It seems as though my red and pink scraps multiply when I am not looking, and that became the perfect excuse to make a monochrome heart quilt.
Whether you keep your palette simple and create a two-toned quilt like mine, or decide to throw caution to the wind and use whatever is close at hand – this quilt pattern works great for all the small scraps of fabric that quilter’s accumulate.

backgrounds and borders
One of my favourite things about this quilt was choosing the perfect background and border fabric to set the tone for the entire quilt. I chose a dainty floral and diagonal plaid by Bonnie and Camille to give the quilt a sweet vintage vibe. I love how using the plaid for both the first and last border gives the quilt a classic layered look that frames the blocks beautifully.
